Message by Principal, Mr Seet Tiat Hee

MrSeet IPrincipal’s Speech at
20th Anniversary cum SG50 Celebration
on 26 May 2015, Tuesday
Living the Legacy, Nurturing for Tomorrow

This year, 2015, marks a key milestone in the history of Juying Secondary. Not only are we celebrating the school’s 20th Anniversary, we are also very privileged and honoured to be able to commemorate Singapore’s 50th birthday in the same year.

“Living the Legacy. Nurturing for tomorrow” - the theme to mark Juying Secondary’s 20th Anniversary cum SG50 celebration – sums up our aspirations and hope to continue the great legacy left behind by our pioneer educators, and to nurture the new generation of tomorrow. There is definitely no better opportunity than this special occasion, for us to join the nation in paying tribute to the pioneer and senior educators of Juying Secondary, who have made significant contributions, and impacted the lives of many Singaporeans and JYians.

We also have a number of very senior Pioneer Generation Educators who are still teaching or serving in our school. They are Retired Principals Mr Billy Goh, Mr Thomas Ong and Mr Johari, Retired HODs Mr Watt Chan Meng, Mrs Chew Suit Mei, Teachers Ms Agnes Yong, and OSO Mr Ng Poh Huat.

Please join me to thank all our Pioneers and Seniors, once again, for taking the time to come and join us on this joyous occasion. You deserve our loudest applause today as you not only have served Juying Secondary, you have played a key role in the progress and development of modern Singapore today.

Please allow me to share some of the contributions of our pioneer staff who started Juying Secondary.
