Objectives

Overview
Developed by Juying's ICT Department, the strategic focus of ITP is to develop responsible, futureready learners with a keen emphasis on computational thinking (logic, analysis, decomposition, pattern solving, abstraction & evaluation), cyber wellness and digital fluency in cloud technologies.
Programme

Technologies To Enhance Learning The ITP module is incorporated within the curriculum time to seamlessly integrate with all other subjects.
ITP exposes students to an extensive range of technological tools and skills which are applicable across all subject areas such as inter-disciplinary project work (IPW), presentation skills and cloud collaboration applications. Digital curation and self-directed learning via online tutorials are incorporated into the ITP curriculum to equip students for their secondary school life and beyond.
Computational Thinking (Code For Fun I & II) A strategic initiative by MOE to foster computational thinking amongst our 21st century learners.
- Code For Fun I (Animation Programming) is introduced to Secondary One students as an introduction to computational thinking. Students use modular programming using the Scratch platform to create animations based on Science and Geography topics such as States of Matter, Water Cycle, Atoms/Molecules, River Formation, Volcanos, Tsunamis, etc.
- Code for Fun II (Games Programming) is introduced to Secondary Two students to further enhance their computational thinking skills by creating subject-based games on Science, Geography and Mathematics concepts.
Graphics & Media Editing Students are also exposed to vector graphics design so that they can create their original digital assets for animation, games and other digital graphics purposes. A brief module in video editing on Apple iPads allows our students to create and publish their original video works for personal use, competitions or otherwise.
DigitalMaker Problem Based Learning Microbit microprocessor learning is integrated into ITP. Here students use the sensor based micro:bit microprocessors to create fun projects to solve everyday challenges. The programme incorporates PBL (Problem-Based Learning) to further excite & develop Juying’s students into futureready 21st century lifelong learners.
