THE INAUGURAL JYSS PASSION MODULES & SPARK! DAY
Juying Secondary School has created an integrated CCE curriculum (piloted with the Secondary One cohort) that allows students from mixed tracks to work together on a passion module of their choice per semester.
These 8 PASSION Modules include People, Arts, Science, Sports and Heath, ICT, Outreach and Nature.
This curriculum serves as a vehicle to hone 21st Century Competencies, as well as drive passion, kindness, intrinsic motivation, peer relation and citizenry engagement of students. Industrial and community partners have been roped in to deepen students’ knowledge, skills, values and attitudes in the area of passion through authentic and experiential learning.
The 10-week programme ended with students sharing their learning with 250 primary school students, 6 partners of the school, secondary two and three seniors, parents and teachers during SPARK! Day. Indeed, on SPARK! Day,
the entire JYian community truly exemplified and passed on the spirit of joyful learning, graciousness and values.
